President’s 2017 Annual Report

Hello My Fellow Republican Ladies and Friends!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and holiday season with family and friends! And I also hope you have a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year too!! In case you were not able to make it to our Annual Christmas gala last month, we had another GREAT event! We broke all previous records with 143 ladies and gentlemen attending our luncheon. The Filet Mignon and Salmon entrees were delicious, as always!! Our guest speakers were Sacramento County Sheriff Scott Jones and former Sheriff John McGinness. They were spectacular! Both of them wowed us with all their knowledge on local current events from day-to-day business to new legislation being passed through the legislature. Everyone enjoyed them so much; the audience did not want them to stop. Unfortunately, time is always a limiting factor. In addition to our wonderful guest speakers, we had the opportunity drawing event to “end all” opportunity drawings. Thanks to the generosity of your Executive Board members, Directors, Committee Chairs and many of our club members, we had rows and rows of opportunity drawing gifts and we even had a flat screen TV. We had so many items to give away; it took almost 45 minutes to call all the numbers. Just to give you an idea, at a regular luncheon we make around $200. At the Christmas luncheon we made almost $1500 on the opportunity drawing alone. The prizes were wonderful!!

I am feeling a bit melancholy because it is time to step down as your Club President, as I am wrapping up my three year term. At the next luncheon I will be passing the gavel to your new President Terri Lyn Alexander. I will miss not being your President, yapping in your ears, getting to know our great speakers, decorating tables and dreaming up crazy little table prizes. It has been a great three years. And although it has been a lot of work, it has also been the most rewarding and fun three years that I can remember. And that is Thanks to You! I have enjoyed every minute serving with you alongside all my Executive Board Members, my Directors, and Chairpersons. I could not have done all this without each and every one of them. I owe a great debt of gratitude to all of them.

I also want to thank all of you, the members, for making me feel welcome, for humoring me so I could tell you jokes and poems, for participating in fashion shows, for making reservations on time, for joining us every month, for completing my crazy questionnaires, for supporting all our fundraising activities, for your loyalty, support, and just for being YOU. You are a super group of Republican Women! YOU are the reason we are a great club! Because of your hard work we have elected Donald Trump to the Presidency. We will now see tax reform. Hopefully we will see health care, immigration and many other reforms if we can keep the pressure on the President, but more important, keep the pressure on Congress.

And “Thank You” to all of you , our members, for being a great group of ladies, for your loyalty and support, you ARE the reason we are a great club! I enjoy every meeting I have the pleasure of spending with you!

With my most heartfelt thank you and appreciation,
